Brett began his musical career in Albury where he played sax in church. Her went on to study at the University of Melbourne gaining degrees in Music & Teaching ( Honours ).

Brett gained his Masters in Music Performance through Wesley Institute in Sydney and has gone on to gain an impressive reputation as both a performer, arranger & educator across a diverse range of genres from Classical to Jazz & Commercial Music.

Brett is active in Music Ministry in church as a musician, band leader & arranger. Brett with wife Rebecca were Directors of Faith City Acadamy of Arts, Wodonga for several years. Brett has extensive experience in Music Education & has established classroom programs for years 7-12 along with various ensembles at schools where he has taught.

Brett studied Sax with Melbournes leading Sax artists Barry Cockroft & Lachlan Davidson. Brett has performed both as a session musician in Melbourne, in ABC TV series & with Funk Bands around Melbourne.

Brett Spokes 27th conductor RCB is co-founder of Subito, a funk fusion band based in North East Victoria. He comes to us via his appointment to Australian Army Band Kapooka where he is an artist on Saxaphone. We have been fortunate to have a musician with the experience and talent of Brett to lead Riverina Concert Band . Each of our conductors over the years has made an individual contribution to the band. Each has their own style, each leaves something unique to keep the band running along smoothly with the expertise of our players & the help of the Committee.
